FRANK FIORITO
Frank Fiorito has been a fixture in the Saint Paul golf scene for over 50 years. A PGA member for 55 years, Fiorito was the golf professional at Como Golf Course from 1946-1968, at Highland Park Golf Course from 1969-1975, and at Southview Country Club from 1975 until he retired in 1986.
Fiorito was instrumental in the development of many good players from the Saint Paul area including Hall of Fame member George Shortridge, and also helped organize the Tapemark Charity Pro-Am into a Minnesota golf major for the professionals.
A good player, Fiorito five times finished in the top ten of the Minnesota Section PGA Championship. He was also the Minnesota Section golf professional of the year in 1977.
BOB REITH SR.
Bob Reith Senior became the golf professional at the Minikahda Club in 1959, a position he kept until retiring in 1981. Following three previous generations of golf professionals, Reith Sr. left his mark on the game.
An accomplished player, Reith Sr. won both the Manitoba Amateur and Open several times before coming to Minnesota. As a professional in Minnesota, Bob contended in nearly every event he participated in. Reith Sr. finished as the runner-up in the Minnesota State Open twice and in the top ten five more times. He also finished in the top ten seven times in the Minnesota Section PGA Championship.
Also dedicated to the PGA, Reith Sr. was President of the Minnesota Section PGA in 1963-64, Professional of the Year in 1963, and a PGA member for 49 years.
BILL WARYAN
Amateur Bill Waryan always felt at home on the golf course. An accomplished junior player from Minneapolis, Waryan twice won the Minnesota State Junior title before attending the University of Minnesota, where he qualified for the NCAA Championships.
Waryan's playing record spanned more than three decades where he finished in the top ten of a major state event. Between 1943 and 1968, there were only four years that Bill did not finish in the top ten of a major state event. Bill won the Minnesota State Open in 1950 and 1959, finished runner-up three other times, and in the top ten five other times. He won the Minnesota State Amateur in 1956, finished runner-up twice, and in the top ten four other times. Waryan finished runner-up in the Minnesota State Public Links three times, in the top ten six other times, and qualified for two USGA Public Links Championships and four USGA Amateur Championships.
Waryan also found time to enjoy the outdoors with his family and brother Don, also a member of the Hall of Fame.
