Message from the President
Dear Dakota Chapter and Minnesota Section Members,
This is the best time of the year. Winter continues to push back all thoughts of spring, and spring knows it is time to get on the golf course. The PGA Tour starts their season in January, but for us the season starts with the Masters. The first weekend in April is the time when we know that the golf season is here.
It is a great honor to address my fellow golf professionals as the President of the Dakota Chapter. I would like to personally invite all Section members to join our Chapter. If you would like more information about the Chapter you can contact Kris Kroetsch or myself and we would be more than happy to discuss our Chapter with you.
Mission Statement:
To provide education, tournaments, awards and business related activities to the members of the Dakota’s Chapter of the Minnesota Section PGA.
Every March, Leo Marchel coordinates the University of North Dakota Golf Clinic. This event takes place on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. The clinic invites adults, coaches and high school players that want to learn more about the golf swing, grip, chipping, pitching, sand play, putting and rules of golf. Leo Marchel and Rob Stiles work hard on getting the students to come, even with all the other activities going on they get nice number of students. I would like to thank Leo and all the other Professionals for their work at this event and look forward to next year.
This winter we had one of our golf professional’s work on their certification. Lisa Schwinden Head Golf Professional at Osgood Golf Course in Fargo has completed the requirements for PGA Certification in Instruction. So please call or email and congratulate her on a job well done.
