MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dakota Chapter Members and Minnesota Section of the PGA Members,
I would like to start off by saying that I hope everyone is enjoying their winter. It's a great time to rest and catch up on family time. Hopefully there is a vacation in
there too. Spring is right around the corner so it is time to start thinking about the upcoming season. We have a full schedule for the Chapter this year so get the events on your
calendar and plan on attending.
The year will start with the UND golf clinic on March 12th and 13th. This is a very well organized event where local chapter members can kick off the
year with teaching and coaching students in a group setting. I want to especially thank Leo Marchel for his time and work that he puts into this event. On
March 19th will be the Dakota Chapter Spring meeting and education. Once again Fargo CC will be hosting our event. We average 20-30 professionals at the meeting and
education annually. This year's education will be hosted by PGA Employment Director Bruce Lubach. Following the meeting and education will be Play Golf Minnesota
Week which begins on Friday, April 30th and concludes on Sunday, May 9th. The site for Play golf Fargo/Moorhead is yet to be determined but there will
be more information soon. This leads us into the summer months and our Dakota Chapter Pro-Am schedule. We have an excellent tournament schedule and we encourage
section professionals to put together teams and come and participate. Our season concludes with the Dakota Chapter Championship, the fall meeting and awards and
the Dakota Chapter Merchandise Show. We will be moving the Date of the Championship this year to accommodate the Minnesota Section Pro Assistant which will be held at the
Dacotah Ridge Golf Club on Monday, September 20th. The merchandise show will be September 20th and 21st at the Doublewood Inn in Fargo, ND which will coincide with the
fall meeting and awards banquet which will immediately follow the merchandise show.
I know that 2010 is going to be the best summer yet. To make the most of the benefits of being a chapter member be active and participate. If you have never been a
member of the chapter before, join and participate in our events. We welcome all members and apprentices of the Minnesota Section. I hope that everyone had a great 2010
and I look forward to seeing you this summer.
