Tom Purcell, PGA Professional at Keller Golf Course in Saint Paul, MN was awarded Minnesota PGA Golf Professional of the Year for the first time at the Section's Fall Meeting held October 24th at Bunker Hills Golf Course. Others honored for their achievements included; Section Teacher of the Year Roger Fahrenkrug, PGA Assistant Professional at Braemar Golf Course in Edina, MN, Section Junior Golf Leader Michael Hinton, PGA Director of Instruction at Columbia Golf Course in Minneapolis, MN, Section President’s Plaque winner Paul Kelley, PGA Professional at Bent Creek Golf Club in Eden Prairie, MN, Horton Smith Award winner Brad Pluth, PGA Director of Instruction at Halla Greens Executive Nine, Bill Strausbaugh Award winner Peer Finstad, PGA Professional at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan, MN, and Section Taylor Made Assistant Professional of the Year C.J. Meyer of Bent Creek Golf Club in Eden Prairie, MN.

Section Facility Promoter's of the Year were awarded to Craig Thomsen, Saint Cloud Country Club in Saint Cloud, MN in the private facility category, John Kendall, Legends at Giants Ridge Resort in Biwabik, MN in the resort category, and Tom Abts, Deer Run Golf Club in Victoria, MN in the public category.

Honored as 2011 Section Player of the Year for the 14th time was Don Berry of Edinburgh USA Golf Club while Bill Israelson of Vintage Golf Club was honored for the third time as Senior Player of the Year. The 2011 Assistant Player of the Year was determined at the PGA National Assistants Championship and will be awarded to Ben Meyers of Medina Golf & Country Club.
