The Minnesota Section of the PGA of America is pleased to announce the hiring of Jeff “JD” Drimel, Certified PGA Professional as their new CEO, starting January 21, 2020. His list of duties will include a theme of “Members first but others too!” while also leading the staff at the Section offices, building relationships for partner opportunities and support, and assisting the PGA Members and facilities in the Minnesota Section.
Coming off a successful two years as a PGA Career Consultant, “JD” had joined the team totaling 18 Career Consultants, serving PGA Members and employers nationwide. Drimel was serving the Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota PGA Sections, which also includes North Dakota and South Dakota. He had previously joined the other 17 field consultants across the country, to forge stronger relationships through the overall smaller geographic territories that each Consultant manages.
A PGA Member since 1987, Drimel completed his term on the PGA Board of Directors as District 8 Director in 2018. Drimel was also President of the Minnesota PGA Section. He has won many awards during his 28 years in the Section. Drimel previously worked at Medina (Minn.) Golf & Country Club for 22 years as its PGA Head Golf Professional.
Drimel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Ferris State University, where he graduated from its PGA Golf Management Program. He also recently completed all four areas of certification in the PGA Certified Professional Program.
