Those four went out for more golf to settle the tie and Tim Brovold emerged as the victor after a three hole sudden death playoff. In the Pro-Am portion of the event, Jesse Nelson from Deacon's Lodge and his partner Justin Simon teamed together to shoot a Best Ball score of 9-under par 63.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[Amateur Troy Johnson from Rush Creek Golf GC shot a three round total of 206, 10-under par to win the 2011 Minnesota State Open Championship at Rush Creek Golf Club. Due to three weather delays during Round 2 of the Championship, 78 players finished thier second rounds on Sunday, then those who made the cut started their Final Round in the afternoon. Johnson, who played 29 holes on Sunday, was 8-under par during that stretch which helped him claim the Championship.]]></description>

Both players finished the event at 7-under par 137 and parred the first play-off hole (Hole #18) before Sorenson hit his third shot to less than a foot on the second play-off hole (Hole #1).  After Berry missed his birdie attempt Sorenson tapped in for his third title in five years.]]></description>

Rask never lost his lead in the final round and ended up winning by three shots over professional Bryce Hanstad of Alexandria GC. Hanstad shot a final round 8-under par 64 to finish at 8-under par 208 for the tournament.
