CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
MIKE BARGE WINS 2006 STATE OPEN
Professional Mike Barge, Hazeltine National GC, shot a final round 3-under par 69 to finish at 7-under par 209 and win the Minnesota State Open at Bunker Hills Golf Club by two shots over professional Ty Armstrong, Glen Lake GC. Barge and Armstrong, who shot 1-under par 69 and finished at 5-under par 211, were tied for the lead with nine holes to play but three bogeys over the next eight holes by Armstrong was the difference. Both players birdied their final hole.
Professional Don Berry, Edinburgh USA finished alone in third at 4-under par 212 after shooting even-par 72 in the final round. Adam Wynia, Prairie Green GC, was low amateur after shooting 4-over par 76 and finishing the event at even-par 216. Second round leader Adam Riddering shot a final round 4-over par 76 and finished tied for seventh at 1-under par 215.
