Maplewood Minn. – The first round of the Minnesota Senior Open took place at Keller Golf Course on June 2. This was the first event from the Minnesota Section PGA for the 2020 season and the feedback was great.

“I’m thrilled we were able to get this event in today at Keller Golf Course. It’s a great event to kick off the tournament season and the course is in great shape.” Tournament Director Tone Pulido, PGA had to say of the event. “We had some uncertainty with the weather but we were able to get back out and almost finish the round. We’re looking forward to good weather tomorrow and a very competitive field.”

There was a three and a half hour weather delay at approximately 4:00 pm that suspended play. They resumed and at 7:30 and played until dark, getting all but one group in. They will tee off at 7:00 am on Wednesday, June 3, then the field will be re-paired and will start round two at 8:00 am.

Low Pro and leader overall was Don Berry, PGA, of Edinburgh USA who shot 3 under 69 with 5 birdies and a pair of bogeys. Tied for fourth place are Amateurs Tim Peterson of Forest Hills GC and Dave Carothers of Wild Marsh GC, are both even par at 72.
