CANNON FALLS, Minn. – With three section victories to his credit already this season, Andrew Israelson bounced back from an early bogey by carding four birdies over a six-hole span Monday at Cannon Golf Club to edge Grant Shafranski by one point to claim the 2026 TGM Pro-Series Event No. 2 presented by Luther Automotive.
Israelson, who has finished runner-up on the Minnesota PGA Money List in each of the past two seasons, is off to a quick start in 2026—finishing second or better in six of seven starts this season.
“I scrapped it around very nicely,” Israelson said following his win Monday. “From inside of 50 yards I was tough to beat. When I was in trouble, I salvaged what I could. Had a couple bogeys that could’ve been doubles and probably made five pars that could’ve been bogeys.
Starting on the fourth hole during Monday’s shotgun Stableford format, Israelson took bogey on his opening hole, but countered by capitalizing on his birdie opportunity at the par-4 fifth.
Israelson, 28, strung together three consecutive birdies, including back-to-back two-putts at the 14th and 15th, followed by a 20-footer at the 16th to quickly move up the leaderboard.
Adding one more birdie to his scorecard at the 18th, Israelson tallied his second bogey of the round at the par-4 first, but it was just enough to slip past Shafranski by one with a total of 21 Stableford points.
Israelson (Minneapolis Golf Club) notched his first victory of the 2026 season at the Premier Bank Pro-Am in May and quickly claimed his second two weeks later at the Interlaken Pro-Am.
He closed out the month of May with his third win coming at the Oneka Ridge Invitational.
Trey Fessler (Albany Golf Course), winner of the first TGM Pro-Series event last month, carded 19 points to finish in a share of third with Jacob Otta (Sanford Power Golf Academy) and two-time Rolex Minnesota PGA Player of the Year winner Thomas Campbell (The Wilds GC).
A pair of birdies against two bogeys was good enough for Minnesota Golf Hall of Fame member Don Berry (Edinburgh USA) to edge Kyle Scanlon (Northfield Golf Club) by one point to claim the Head Professional Championship Monday.
“I enjoyed the course—it’s probably been 20 years since I played here and almost teed off on the wrong tee, but, obviously, played reasonably well,” Berry said Monday. “I’ve shot a lot of 71s and 72s and just haven’t made a lot of birdies yet [this season]. I feel like I need to hit it a little better and putt a little better but today was a pretty good start.”
Adam Haugen (The Pines at Grand View Lodge) tallied 14 points to finish third, while Blake Lentner (Wayzata Country Club) and Craig Brischke (Tanners Brook Golf Club) finished tied for fourth with 13 points.
Helped by a birdie at the first hole Monday, Nate Adams tallied five more birdies over his next 12 holes to propel him to a two-point victory in the Assistant’s Event over Israelson.
“I got off to a good start with the putter,” Adams said Monday. “I made a lot of nice five to 10-foot par putts when I had to have them. I love where the game’s at; I’ve been playing better the last week or two. Struggled a little bit the second day of the [Minnesota PGA Foundation Pro-Am], but I’m feeling good overall.”
Entering its first season as the title sponsor for the TGM Pro-Series in 2026 and season-long points race for the Minnesota section, Thompson Golf Management teams with golf course owners and boards to aid with golf course operations, providing a long-term vision to enhance the overall golf experience.
“We’ve got a couple of golf courses [in Minnesota] already, so I’m just very curious and interested in the Minnesota market,” Thompson Golf Management CEO Ryan Thompson said. “I’ve been working with clubs in Arizona for 20 years, and I’d like to get to know clubs here because I think there’s some great opportunities.
“We’re a management company—we help clubs grow, eliminate problems and make things easier.”
The Pro-Series and TGM Points race consists of three regular-season events, culminating in a season ending invitational held in conjunction with the Minnesota Golf Champions.
At the completion of three regular-season events, the top 30 players in the TGM Points Standings will receive an invitation to the Minnesota Golf Champions in September at The Club at Golden Valley.
