PRIOR LAKE, Minn. – Carding an eagle and two birdies over his final nine holes Monday at The Meadows at Mystic Lake helped Jeff Sorenson to a two-stroke victory at the 2026 Minnesota PGA-Mystic Lake Foundation Pro-Am presented by Yamaha Golf and Utility.
Sorenson, who began the final round in a share of the lead, carded a final-round 68 to edge defending champion Thomas Campbell for his second victory of the season.
In 25 events this season, Sorenson has collected 17 top-10 finishes, earned his first victory of the year at the Northfield Golf Club Pro-Am in late June.
With his victory Monday, Sorenson pulls within 145 points of Campbell in the Rolex Minnesota PGA Player of the Year standings.
Campbell managed two birdies against one bogey during his opening nine Monday to reach 5-under for the tournament before a quick birdie to start his inward nine lifted him to minus-6.
An eagle at the 18th wasn’t enough for Campbell to catch Sorenson, giving him back-to-back rounds of 4-under 68 to finish runner-up.
Trey Fessler (Albany Golf Course) and Eddie Wynne (North Oaks Golf Club) each posted a final-round 68 Tuesday to finish in a share of third place at 138, while 2026 Minnesota Senior Open and Minnesota Senior PGA Professional champion Derek Stendahl (Rush Creek Golf Club) and two-time Minnesota State Open champion Drew McCain (Combine Golf) placed in a tie for fifth at 139.
Jumping out to a two-stroke advantage during the opening round Sunday, two-time Wisconsin State Amateur champion and former University of Wisconsin golfer Tyler Obermueller ran away from the field during the final round Monday, posting a 5-under 67 to claim a seven-shot victory over Alex Schmitz and Ryan Stursz.
