COON RAPIDS, Minn. – Congratulations to Tommy Koehler and the entire team at Braemar Golf Course on receiving the 2023 PGA Jr. League GameChanger Award! The GameChanger Awards were created by the PGA of America’s Player Engagement team in 2019 to celebrate the efforts of PGA Jr. League Coaches who create more opportunities for more kids to learn and play the game. “The GameChanger Award means a lot to me. I started at Braemar in 2019 working for Jay Meyerhoff and it was always a goal of ours to build an incredible junior program. PGA Junior League was one avenue for us to do that. To me it’s a testament to our staff here who have embraced our goal to be one of the leaders in junior golf in the section,” said Koehler.

The awards honor the 25 largest PGA Jr. League programs in the country, as well as the largest programs in each of the 41 PGA of America Sections. Koehler and team has 149 participants in their program. Koehler mentioned his gratitude towards everyone who helped make this award possible, “ I’d like to thank all of my staff for all of their hard work and dedication to our PGA Jr League program, without them, PGA Junior League isn’t doable. I’d also like to thank our General Manager, Joe Abood, and the whole Parks and Recreation team here in Edina who have embraced PGA Jr League.”

Going forward, Koelher remains dedicated to the PGA Jr. League program and lastly stated, “The goal for Braemar is to continue to grow the program, not only in numbers but enhance the experience too.” Congratulations Tommy!
