Regular Season Point Structure

Points are awarded to the top half of the field of each event:

  • Base Points: Starting at 2 points for the last qualifying position, increasing by increments of 2 as rank improves.
  • Bonus Points: The top three finishers receive additional bonus points (6, 4, and 2 respectively).
  • Field Adjustments:
    • For odd-numbered fields, the decimal is removed (e.g., in a 71-player field, points begin at 35th place).
    • Points are split for ties.
    • In the Four-Ball event, both teammates will receive 80% of the base points listed for their rank.

The Top 30 and ties from the TGM Points Race qualify for the Invitational, which is held in conjunction with the Minnesota Golf Champions. If the field drops less than 30, the next place individual will be invited to participate.

  • Format: 36-hole Individual Stroke Play (Invite Only).
  • Invitational Points: The Tournament Committee will finalize and approve points for the Invitational at a later date. First place is guaranteed to meet or exceed the highest point total awarded during the regular season.
  • Invitational Winner: This title is awarded to the player with the lowest 36-hole score specifically during the Invitational event. If there is a tie for first at this event, a playoff will determine the winner.
  • TGM Cup (Points Race) Winner: This title is awarded to the individual who has accumulated the highest total number of points across all four events in the series.
    • Because points from the three regular-season events carry over, a player could win the Invitational but still be trailing in the season-long standings, or vice versa.
  • Purse: The Top 10 of the invitational will be paid out.
